Ask me anything!

Two versions of this…  I’ve been wanting to do an animation of this for a while.  Maybe someday.

I finally got my plaque. The plaque was awarded for being in high school orchestra for 4 consecutive years.
It wasn’t easy being that dedicated because of the constant schedule conflicts and the fact that orchestra (and other artistic programs) are on the edge of being removed in my county. And well…
Today our director treated us with a bit of food to celebrate the year and our efforts. Before we ate, we all decided we wanted to hear something important our director had to tell.
…It really put a damper to our party, heh.
Turns out next year, because of the new schedule we’re picking up, we might lose our Orchestra program. Our director actually works part-time for Mojave while her designated school is actually A-tech.The schedule works pretty strangely and it also includes rotation, or something.
It’s supposed to help students who are in sports. They want to rotate the classes they get pulled out of towards the end of the day. Apparently many have been failing the class they kept getting pulled from. (…I’ll be honest, I think it’s stupid. If they can’t maintain one class, they shouldn’t even participate in sports. They need to maintain a certain GPA in order to play too. I don’t understand why this is an issue and why they’re even trying to make it easier for them.)
Anyway, it conflicts with our director’s schedule since in the mornings she teaches at the other school. She’s been speaking with the principal back and forth for weeks now, trying to come up with any kind of solution. There are just too many issues.
The budget is so low for my school, that we had to cut a lot of programs. Even theater is being cut for sure… It would be hard finding a full-time teacher that is licensed to teach Orchestra and so far it looks like no one else can teach part-time since Mojave’s schedule is unique from other schools in the county. They will just have the same conflicts my teacher ran into.
Also we can try to have another music teacher here to sell their prep to teach, but it’s still difficult… Nothing is set in stone, but it’s just a high risk that we’ll lose a program that we’ve been building and investing thousands of dollars in (new instruments, new music, ect.)
Not only that, it just sucks you guys, this orchestra is amazing. I know I’m graduating and leaving from this place. It’s not something I’ll have to deal with. But we have a handful of students who will lose the chance to continue playing in it… There’s just so many negatives and it can’t be helped.
It makes me so sad.

Arts are so important to students, it’s so embarrassing seeing schools having to cut these… Yeah it’s really going to motivate students to do better when the thing they like about school is gone. Unfortunately this is happening in many schools right now. The best thing to do, and I know this from experience, is to get your parents to complain to the school boards. They actually take the parents seriously, so it’s your best shot at keeping the arts in school.

Julio Diaz has a daily routine. Every night, the 31-year-old social worker ends his hour-long subway commute to the Bronx one stop early, just so he can eat at his favorite diner.
But one night last month, as Diaz stepped off the No. 6 train and onto a nearly empty platform, his evening took an unexpected turn.
He was walking toward the stairs when a teenage boy approached and pulled out a knife.
“He wants my money, so I just gave him my wallet and told him, ‘Here you go,’” Diaz says.
As the teen began to walk away, Diaz told him, “Hey, wait a minute. You forgot something. If you’re going to be robbing people for the rest of the night, you might as well take my coat to keep you warm.”
The would-be robber looked at his would-be victim, “like what’s going on here?” Diaz says. “He asked me, ‘Why are you doing this?’”
Diaz replied: “If you’re willing to risk your freedom for a few dollars, then I guess you must really need the money. I mean, all I wanted to do was get dinner and if you really want to join me … hey, you’re more than welcome.
“You know, I just felt maybe he really needs help,” Diaz says.
Diaz says he and the teen went into the diner and sat in a booth.
“The manager comes by, the dishwashers come by, the waiters come by to say hi,” Diaz says. “The kid was like, ‘You know everybody here. Do you own this place?’”
“No, I just eat here a lot,” Diaz says he told the teen. “He says, ‘But you’re even nice to the dishwasher.’”
Diaz replied, “Well, haven’t you been taught you should be nice to everybody?”
“Yea, but I didn’t think people actually behaved that way,” the teen said.
Diaz asked him what he wanted out of life. “He just had almost a sad face,” Diaz says.
The teen couldn’t answer Diaz — or he didn’t want to.
When the bill arrived, Diaz told the teen, “Look, I guess you’re going to have to pay for this bill ‘cause you have my money and I can’t pay for this. So if you give me my wallet back, I’ll gladly treat you.”
The teen “didn’t even think about it” and returned the wallet, Diaz says. “I gave him $20 … I figure maybe it’ll help him. I don’t know.”
Diaz says he asked for something in return — the teen’s knife — “and he gave it to me.”
Afterward, when Diaz told his mother what happened, she said, “You’re the type of kid that if someone asked you for the time, you gave them your watch.”
“I figure, you know, if you treat people right, you can only hope that they treat you right. It’s as simple as it gets in this complicated world.”

Did you know?
Delinquents in Japan often bleach their hair?
They even tan their skins sometimes.
This is a very common delinquent look. Automatically a Japanese person with an unnatural hair color will be taken for one. It’s even unprofessional and jobs will not take a person with unusual hair color.
It can be bleached blond or dyed another bright color. They even have an unusual hairstyle, like a pompadour. Some even shave their eyebrows!
There are other traits/clothing that define the delinquent look. At school it’s mostly anything that is against the school’s required attire. From open shirts, to wearing a different jacket, to extra accessories like hats and sunglasses, having piercings… ect.
Most of this deals with males, but it’s not only males that dye their hair, but females also will.
Most of the times the style is done to be rebellious, to look different, or to look tough. There’s many examples of this common character type in anime and manga, if that interests you.
Not everyone who dyes their hair is a delinquent, though! And In America we can see this, but it’s mainly a style and not an act of defiance. I think in Japan it is just becoming a style too. It’s to look cool!
We can only tell by the behavior of the person.
Why I started talking about this;
Because no one asks Reen about her interpretations sometimes and I just wanna get this out there since I’m all about Nekkeys and MZDumbs— Might as well talk more about how and why I draw them the way I do
Nickey being an albino is a stupid and doesn’t make sense, but hey whatever you like. I just find it too much different from what was original intended. I’m shure this was intended. It’s too obvious when it comes to thinking of the common character types in Japan.
His dumb hobbies and his perverted nature…
He’s the epitome of delinquents in Pop’n!!
To be honest… A lot of Des-Row characters fit the delinquent group! oh des-niisan
One of my good friends gives him this albino trait, but I don’t care, love her stuff. Because it’s not even the main subject, only in coloring.
you can edit out that did you know part i don’t care

I always thought of him as some pervert poser/wigger
